Baluster form, set on a circular and stepped base with a border of scrolling flowers, the lower body with a chased band of thistles on a matte ground, the upper body with applied figures of Justice and others, with a central applied laurel wreath centering an inscription, the scroll handle with flowers and cast hand, with an everted spout, marked under base
12¾ in. high; 40 oz.
The inscription: Presented to Geo. R. Chittenden, Esq. by his Agents as a token of their Esteem for him as a Gentleman Employer and business man, Chicago Dec. 18th 1862
