With large, well-painted arms of Fauntleroy in front showing three infant heads couped within a scrollwork cartouche entwined with branches of laurel, on the sides delicately rendered sprays of rose and peony in rose enamels, plain arched handle

D.S. Howard, op. cit., vol II, p. 327, notes that there are no records of Fauntleroys in 18th century England; they had settled in Barbados and Virginia.
