The arms of Alexander in front beneath cockerel crest and flanked by rose sprays, all within a scalloped, molded edge panel reserved on a stippled turquoise ground lightly molded with further rose sprays, the arched handle with incised borders and traces of gilt decoration, applied ruyi-head thumbpiece and another at the base, all on another, pomegranate-shaped, molded edge white panel enamelled with rose sprays, at the molded rim bands of iron-red end gilt enclosing grisaille and iron-red cell pattern
