Of octafoil form, finely painted edge to edge with an amusing scene of Chinese boys flying butterfly-shaped kites the kite of one aloft at the rim while the other boy stoops to fix his string, their mothers looking on and a spotted dog strutting before them, all set in a riverside garden with garden seats in the foreground and a pavilion to the side, a large coat-of-arms of Peach quartering Small with Cockburn in pretense above, the rim edged in gilt and black

The service made for Samuel Peach of Gloucestershire, a director of the British East India Co. from 1773 to 1784 (d. 1790), with this charming scene, called by Howard "...unique for armorial porcelain." (See Chinese Armorial Porcelain, vol. I, p. 346.) Howard also calls the arms "marshalled in an interesting manner." The arms of Peach of Rooksmore had been granted in 1769.
