A second version is recorded with white enamel in place of the silver. Another service, seen in these rooms, 20 January 2004, lot 449, shows the arms of Torriano and Proli. It is quite possible that Nathaniel Torriano, senior supercargo and Chief of Council in Canton in the 1720s, may have ordered for both sides of the Proli family. Yet another version of this service exists, allbeit probably as a result of the Chinese workshop confusing their orders: it displays the additional arms of Charles Boone interrupting the border at the bottom.
