Lot Essay

The Kamperbrug is the drawbridge that connects the Prins Hendrikkade and the Stationsplein. The bridge was built in 1875-1876, while the artificial station island was under construction. The Central Station did not exist then. The bridge in the painting shows the second Kamperbrug.
