Lot Essay

Felicien Bobeldijk was born in Koog aan de Zaan on the 17th of October 1876 and died in Amsterdam on the 31st of January 1964. He worked in Blaricum, Castricum and Noord-Brabant, but for the greatest part of his life he worked in Amsterdam. He studied at the Quellinusschool, Rijksschool voor Kunstnijverheid and the Rijksacademie where he was taught by Willem Witsen. Bobeldijk received various prizes for his paintings and was a member of the artist's society 'Arti et Amicitiae'.
