Lot Essay

The Kizhi museum is one of the largest open-air museums in Russia. It is located on one of the islands of Lake Onega in the republic of Karelia. The centre panel of the present lot depicts the Church of Transfiguration, the other panels depict other traditional wooden architecture from the same museum.
