Shaped circular on four bracket feet, with shell border, chased and engraved with scolls, scales, flowers and foliage on a matted ground, engraved with a coat-of-arms and an inscription
20 in. (51 cm.) diam.
96 oz. (3,000 gr.)
The arms are those of Boyman.

The inscription reads 'Eliza and Richard Boyman, A Token of Affectionate regard from his Grandfather Richard Boyman, 3rd June, 1830'

Richard Boyman (d.1838) was a shipowner who resided on the Mile End Road Middlesex. His grandson Richard Boyman Boyman (d.1864) made provision for a charity, which still bears his name, for the education of poor scolars.
