Ovoid, the body enamelled in translucent white enamel over a wavy ground, applied with ribbon-tied ruby-set two-colour gold foliate swags, the hinged cover and detachable base with pale blue champlevé enamel decoration in punch-beaded borders, the cover with a further wreath of enamelled leaves and berries, around the central rosette, with a diamond thumbpiece, marked inside base and inside cover, on a later scroll stand
