In the Nordic style, with baluster knopped stem cast and chased with scrolls and knotwork, the base mounted on four lion's paw feet, with two helmeted figures and two circular cartouches, one with a parrot, the other with 'CR' monogram below a Danish Royal Crown, the stem rising to a knop with applied winged beasts, beaded socket, marked on feet

The monogram is that of King Christian IX of Denmark (1818-1906).
