Provenance
This sphere-wreathed mirror, with room-reflecting convex glass in the fashion popularised around 1800 by the architect Sir John Soane, bears the label of the Dublin carver and gilder Richard Jackson (fl.1786-1827), owner of the Looking Glass Warehouse in Essex Bridge (The Knight of Glin, Dublin Directories and Trade Labels, Furniture History, 1985, p.267).
