King Alexander I was the second son of King Constantine I (1868-1922). King Constantine abdicated in his second son's favour in 1917. King Alexander died tragically only three years later from blood poisoning from a monkey bite which had attacked the King's dog while they were walking in the grounds of Tatoi.
