Portrait of John Scott, 1st Earl of Eldon (1751-1838), half-length, as a young man
With inscription by the 2nd Earl of Eldon 'Mr John Scott, afterwards Lord Chancellor Eldon./This is a copy of a drawing on the back of which/I have written the following memorandum: 'A Portrait, drawn in Chalk, of Mr. John Scott, af-/terwards Lord Chancellor Eldon; this portrait/was done for Henry H. Reay Esq. & is now the/property of his daughter Mrs. Bell of Stool-/ington, by whose permission a copy of it has/been taken for me this year by Mr.T.J.Robins Eldon.1839' Eldon 1840' (on the reverse)
