Lewis Marks' cartoon issued in July 1820 concerning George IV's divorce of Queen Caroline. Before the trial, Lord Liverpool proposed to introduce a Parliamentary Bill, dubbed the Bill of Pains and Penalties, to deprive Caroline of her titles and to dissolve the marriage (K.Baker, George IV; A Life of caricature, London, 2005, p.11).
