This work will be included in the forthcoming Gustav Klimt supplement to the catalogue raisonné of the drawings currently being prepared by Dr Marian Bisanz-Prakken.

The present drawing, according to Dr Bisanz-Prakken, is part of the series of preparatory drawings (Strobl 1358-1373) for the painting Wasserschlangen II (Novotny & Dobai, no. 140).
