The arched cornice above two panelled doors enclosing five cedar-lined slides with mahogany fronts, the lower section with two short and two long drawers with original handles and convex quarter fillets, on scrolled tapering feet

Lot Essay

A mahogany bookcase inlaid with related ebony floral patterns was supplied in 1810 to Charles Madryll Cheere for the library at Papworth Hall, Cambridgeshire by the St. Paul's Churchyard cabinet-maker George Oakley. A clothes-press with similar ebony-inlay was sold aonymously, Phillips, London, 9 February 1999, lot 207.
