A 20th century scrimshaw whale's tooth My Beloved Mary
signed with the initials RHC
polished, engraved and polychromed; the front with a portrait of a young woman and inscribed on a banner "My Beloved Mary", and on the back with a woman [Mary] skipping rope in 19th century dress. Also decorated with a floral pattern around the bottom and ancanthus patterns along the sides.
