A 20th century 19-inch Terrestrial Globe

made up of twelve chromolithographed gores and two polar calottes, the equator and prime meridian graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with symbols, the oceans showing depths in fathoms, ocean currents, principle shipping routes, International Dateline, the Antarctic with partial coastline and showing details such as the South magnetic pole, the continents delicately coloured in shades to show height above sea-level, national boundaries shown in dotted blue outline, and showing details such as rivers, lakes, principal railway lines, cities and towns, Leningrad labelled Petrograd, on simple steel arm to baluster turned ebonised column and plinth base on four scroll feet
32 in. (81.3 cm.) height on stand.
