An exhibition standard model of the Baltimore clipper Dash
William E. Hitchcock (American 1928-2006)
built up in plank on frame construction with basswood planking over mahogany frames, and only a small part of the hull planked, the topsides finished in black with a white waist, and the deck fitted with numerous details which include: anchors, bit posts, pin and fife rails, stove pipe, deck grating, ship's boat, bilge pump, cannon ball racks, capstan, binnacle, tiller, 10 cannons rigged on carriages, and other details. Rigged with a bowsprit, masts, cross spars, standing and running rigging including ratlines, halyards, toping lifts, foot ropes sheets and other rigging details. Displayed on a pair of turned brass pedestals within a glass case with a mahogany base.
