A exhibition standard model of the John Alden designed schooner Malabar X

the hull built up in wood with painted dark red bottom, white waterline, black topsides with a gold sheer stripe and mahogany cap rail. The decks are planked in basswood and detailed with chocks, anchors, anchor windlass, companionways, skylights, handrails on cabin top, stove pipe, ventilators, running lights, binnacle, ship's wheel and other details. Rigged as a schooner with a bowsprit, fore and main masts, jib boom, booms and gaffs, standing and running rigging and other rigging details. Mounted on a pair of turned brass pedestals on a mahogany base decorated with inlays and a brass bound glass cover.
30 x 30¾ in. (76.2 x 78.1 cm.) cased.
