Lot Essay

Nisbet was the youngest child of the artist and traveller Hume Nisbet. She studied at Clapham School of Art and married fellow student Harry Bush in 1910. The influence of the Pre-Raphaelites in both style and subject matter can be seen in her work. She worked as a book illustrator from 1913-1917. The Enchanted Lochan: Stories of Celtic Mythology was published in London, 1917.
