In 1994, the domaine was expanded to include vines in Volnay, and then also in Auxey-Duresses. Pascal Marchand was a major influence during his 15 years at Comte Armand, as he was instrumental in transforming the domaine, raising its ranking to arguably the greatest estate in Pommard. Benjamin Leroux took over from Pascal Marchand in 1999. Benjamin Leroux is a firm believer in bio-dynamic viticulture and harbours a particular interest in lunar cycles. Comte Armand's Pommard Clos des Epéneaux could be considered among one of the great red wines of Burgundy, and is characterized by a long ageing potential.
