the scabbard carved in low relief with a continuous scene of a various figures in a market street below a pine strewn mountainous river landscape engaged in leisurely pursuits including scholarship, music and wine drinking, the handle carved with foreigners holding onto a seated elephant below pine and cloud scrolls, incised mark -- 14 3/8in. (36.5cm.) long.
