A Japanese ivory carving of Jurojin and boys, 19th century
the standing immortal holding a gnarled branch bearing peaches, his bearded face with bulbous ear lobes, wearing a cap and long flowing robes decorated with dragons pursuing and clutching the pearl amidst clouds, and floral, wave, ring and pudding stone patterns, with boys standing at his feet, variously holding a fan, staff, peach and a rattle, standing on rockwork supported on an oval base, incised mark within a double band with trifoil leaves -- 16 1/16in. (40.7cm.) high.
