A Japanese ivory group, 19th Century
the three men with clean shaven dome heads, carved with the first figure seated upon rockwork holding a vajra and the other hand raised to the sky, a second monk kneels near his feet as the final figure leans over him wearing a mugwort belt and holding a double gourd in his left hand - 6 1/8in. (15.6cm) high.
