A Japanese Kiseruzutsu (pipecase) and tonkotsu (tobacco pouch), 19th century
the lacquered bamboo kiseruzutsu of muso-zutsu form, the case carved with a woman and cranes on a fan, swastika, bamboo, daisy and honeycomb ground, the lid similarly decorated, incised seal mark -- 8in. (20.3cm.) long; with a string bearing a coral bead attached to the leather tonkotsu embossed with flowers and foliated scrolls and adorned by a floral-shaped metal clasp -- the tonkotsu 5 3/16in. (13.2cm.) wide.
