A Sino-Tibetan gilt bronze figure of the Lokapala Vaishravana, late 18th early 19th century
seated side saddle on a recumbent Buddhistic lion with a ball clutched in his jaws, holding a mongoose vomiting gems in his left hand, his right hand raised in vyakhyana mudra, wearing a beaded necklace and an ornate headdress framed by a celestial scarf billowing above the shoulders and trailing down the sides, supported on an oval lotus base -- 4 7/8in. (12.3cm.) high.
