A Chinese famille noire tripod censer, Kangxi
of bombe form supported on three bracket feet, decorated with a pair of confronting four-clawed ferocious dragons pursuing the flaming pearl amidst fire and cloud scrolls, enamelled in ochre, aubergine, green and blue enamels reserved on a black ground except for the interior and recessed base -- 10 1/16in. (25.7cm.) diam.
