A Hirado 'Nabeshima style' blue and white dish, 19th century
with rounded walls supported on a tapering foot rim, painted with a blossoming prunus tree and daisies growing beside it, the reverse with three phoenix above the foot rim decorated with a comb design -- 8 9/16in. (21.7cm.) diam.; and a Japanese blue and white teapot and cover, of globular shape with a tapering spout at the shoulder below the waisted and lipped neck surmounted by a flattened rounded cover, painted with stork amidst pine below cloud scrolls -- 4¾in.
