H. Mark Moyens was a prominent member of the Washington D.C. art community. He moved from France to the capital in 1946 where he immersed himself in collecting the work of his contemporaries. Moyens frequently visited the artists he forged relationships with around the globe. As a galleriest he promoted and supported the careers of Washington D.C. artists such as Gene Davis and Lowell Nesbitt.
