PETRONIO, Alessandro Traiano (d.1585). De victu Romanorum et de sanitate tuenda libri quinque ... His accessere libelli duo De aluo sine medicamentis mollienda. Rome: casa del Popolo Romano, 1581. 2° (306 x 203mm). Engraved arms of Gregory XIII, the dedicatee, on title, woodcut device on penultimate page (title unnecessarily reinforced at the fore-margin, repaired tear in same leaf, wormhole from Qq2 to the end with very slight damage to text, some spotting and staining). 18th-century Italian vellum, 2 tan lettering pieces on spine. Provenance: deleted 17th-century ownership inscription on title, partly corroded and repaired on verso.
