Edo-Meiji period (19th century)
The first black lacquer and carved on the pipecase and tobacco box in guri style with Gigaku masks and chrysanthemums, the pipe bamboo and silver with cloisonné enamel foliate scroll, lacquer bead ojime carved illegibly; a lacquer and stag antler pipecase carved on the body with notches simulating cherry bark and on the top with a demon mask with stylized dragon in the mouth, metal rim; a wood pipecase and tobacco box in the form of a yawning foreigner, the box carved with a Buddhist bell and figure of Buddha, lacquer mask ojime; a root-wood pipecase carved with reishi fungus and fish-form tobacco box with shell inlaid sunflower, metal and bamboo pipe, glass bead ojime; a root-wood pipecase with a wood burl tobacco box with an applied metal floret on the cover, glass bead ojime, metal pipe; a woven bamboo pipecase with irises in applied ivory and shell, metal fittings; a three-case wood tortoise inro with a fruit nut ojime and a wood netsuke of a turtle, signed Yasutada
