Lot Essay

The Eiraku mark was used by Kato Gorohachi working in the Hinno kiln of Aichi Prefecture, whose work this could be. Wataya Heihachi was a merchant originally of Kutani in Ishikawa Prefecture (formerly Kaga Province). The first generation died in 1885, but his son and then grandson continued the company.
