A Chinese Fahua baluster jar, Guan, Ming Dynasty, 15th/16th Century
The sides decorated in slip with three scenes of scholars on horseback accompanied by attendants in landscape settings, above a band of petal lappets encircling the foot and below a cloud collar decorated with lotus sprays on a deep aubergine ground, the interior with a thin green glaze - 12¼in.
