Lot Essay

Stella van der Auwera attended the Art Academy in Malines (Belgium) from 1936 until 1942, where she was taught by Prosper de Troyer. She became professor at that same academy in 1950. Van der Auwera reached geometrical abstraction in the early 1950's.
