Coming from a Chinese-Surinam family, Guillaume Lo-A-Njoe assimilated the exotic folklore art. But in his native Amsterdam, Cobra was at his height and the young student of the Rietveldacademie preferred these expressive styles. Also Cézanne and Van Gogh made a great impression on him. His own paintings are an original and curious mix of multicultural influences.
