Nicolaas Warb is a pseudonym for Sophie Warburg. She was a pupil of the Art Academy of Amsterdam, but decided to go to Paris at the age of 22. In 1939 she contacted Georges Vantongerloo. Through him she arrived at a constructivist way of working to which she added her own freely-devised elements.
