FIRST EDITION OF THIS SCARCE WORK containing a treatise on interest and a letter to the abbé Terray on iron production. The former, which had been written much earlier in 1769 in response to a financial scandal in Angoulême, is thought to be one of the earliest studies of interest from a scientific rather than a religious viewpoint.
