The interior carved as an open hibiscus blossom with a stamen in the center, the exterior carved in high relief around the sides with a day lily, millet, branches of budding magnolia and bamboo, the latter two also forming the handle at one end and continuing up from the openwork base which is also partly formed by an hibiscus leaf
