Pomerol, cru exceptionnel
Very damaged wax capsules with exposed corks protuding 4mm. Lot 691 with slight signs of seepage. Level top-shoulder. Lot 692 very good appearance and label. Level upper-shoulder
Tasting Note: Fine, rich, but not all that deep in April 1972, a glorious mouthful though. Quite quick to develop, soft, nicely balanced in 1976, then in the early 1980s, an astonishing flavour of ripe mulberries, pretty high alcohol, impressive, lovely. More than just fleshy yet not fat. M.B.
