Very finely modeled in a serene expression with a bow-shaped mouth and aquiline nose, the heavy-lidded almond-shaped eyes cast downwards, his hair arranged in wavy locks drawn over the ushnisha, with traces of polychromy remaining

Lot Essay

This is a superb example of stucco sculpture with delicately and crisply modeled features. The face retains a smoothly polished surface.
