A black stone figure of Skanda
Kashmir, 7th/8th century
The figure dressed in a short diaphanous dhoti, with the sacred thread across his torso, adorned with a necklace, earrings and a long garland, the face with heavy-lidded eyes beneath finely arched brows, the long wavy hair topped by a princely crown and backed by a halo, holding a spear in one hand and his peacock in the other
