A granite figure of Bhairava
South India, Tamilnadu, Chola Period, 13th century
Standing on a square plinth, his radiating hands holding a drum, vajra, noose and bowl, wearing multiple necklaces, his face backed by a flaming mandala with his hair pulled into a high headdress centered with a lingam and with a crescent moon to his left, his canine mount behind him with coiled tail and bared fangs
