A gilt bronze figure of Varahi
Tibet, Densatil, 16th century
Finely cast holding a chopper in her right hand and a skullcup and khatvanga staff in her left, wearing a beaded and festooned apron, multiple necklaces, armbands and bracelets inset with hardstones, a garland of skulls, the face with expressively delineated brows and third eye, the sow's head emerging from behind her right ear, her billowing sash forming a mandorla
