A Chinese jadeite snuff bottle, 19th Century
carved in relief with a lion, birds and a butterfly, jadeite metal mounted stopper -- 2in. (5.1cm.) high; and a round form jadeite snuff bottle, jadeite stopper -- 2½in. (5.7cm.) high. (2)
Provenance
Ex collecton Maggi-Spaulding, purchased in the U.S.A. in the 1940s. The lion and butterfly carved snuff bottle, sold by Parke-Bernet Galleries, New York, 13-14 February 1946, lot 85.
