A Chinese oval white jade 'bat' plaque, 19th century
carved with its wings outstretched, the head thrust forward and flanked by two floral sprays, the body with finely incised fur marks, with the legs folded beneath the belly -- 4 5/8in. (10.9cm.) wide.
