A Chinese rock crystal brushpot, 19th century
carved in the form of a hollowed tree trunk, the exterior with a scholar seated on rockwork holding a fan beside a duck, all below gnarled pine branches and cloud scrolls, the transparent stone of a grey-brown tone with white inclusions -- 4 5/8in. (11.7cm.) high.
