A quantity of Chinese mother-of-pearl gaming counters, 19th century
fifty-one of rectangular form, two of similar shape with foliate formed edge, twenty-two circular, nine of compressed rectangular shape with foliate edge, three of compressed rectangular form, two edges with open mouthed beast-head profiles, each carved in low relief with pairs of birds amongst foliage and stylised scrolling lotus -- maximum 2½in. (6.5cm.) wide.
