A Chinese bronze buddhistic lion censer, Late Ming dynasty
modelled reclining, a mythical snake formed creature pinned under its large front claws, with scrolling mane and tail, its detachable head with fierce open-mouth expression, forming the cover of the censer, the bulbous body with a hollow interior -- 7¼in. (18.5cm.) wide.
